I am delighted to be able to announce that the County has agreed to provide each youth section within the County with Gold level membership for at least the next 3 years.

I know a large number of sections already make use of OSM to manage their section and have seen the great benefits it provides in terms of managing membership records, programme planning, badge records and so much more, saving leaders vast amounts of admin time whilst improving the experience for our Young People and volunteers.

If you are already using …

Another weekend jam-packed full of activities for 300 Scouts from all over Cornwall. The weather was considerably wetter than previous years but all the Scouts (and most of the leaders) took it in their stride and got on with the important job of having fun.
The range of activities meant there was something for everyone and included pistol shooting, pioneering, assault course (very muddy!), low ropes, zip wire, JOTI (Jamboree On The Internet) and “Laser Tag” by the ever popular guys from “Battlefield Live Kernow”.

This year was another great year representing Scouting at the Royal Cornwall show.
With visitors from all over the County taking to the show ground in Wadebridge over the 3 days of the show. It is a fantastic opportunity to shout about what we are doing, recruit more adult volunteers and boost the young people in our sections.
With the ever popular badge making, bouncy castle and knot tying being boosted this year by a few circus skills, interest in what we get up to was high. The 40 volunteers that supported …

Trustees form a vital part of what we all, from Chair-people, to Committee Members, Secretarys and Treasurers they all play their part in our day to day Scouting.

To help you reach possible local contacts we have created a poster that you can use, put it up locally …

‘Life without adventure is deadly dull’ Baden Powell famously once uttered, when his Scouting movement was still in its infancy.  He had a point and faced today with abseiling and archery, drama and street sports, rock climbing and water zorbing; to mention but a few adrenaline-fuelled activities; even the original Chief Scout himself might need a bit of a sit down.
This grant funded project has been started to meet a demand for Scouting in Cornwall, and at the beginning of January this year Cornwall welcomed its newest group, the 1st …

Recently members of the Red Bandits Explorer unit enjoyed a fantastic evening on the ice thanks to the “West Cornwall Youth Trust”.
With the help of Sue Rosevear, the Exlorers headed off to the city centre where they took to the ice for an evening of skating. Having been lucky enough to be awarded a £50 grant towards the activity meant they only had to pay to get there!
Everyone had a great time but only one of the Leaders ventured out onto the ice and funnily enough, he was the one …
