I am delighted to be able to announce that the County has agreed to provide each youth section within the County with Gold level membership for at least the next 3 years.

I know a large number of sections already make use of OSM to manage their section and have seen the great benefits it provides in terms of managing membership records, programme planning, badge records and so much more, saving leaders vast amounts of admin time whilst improving the experience for our Young People and volunteers.

We are really pleased to announce that applications for the 2019 NSGSO and NSGCB course are now open. We are taking applications for both the Orchestra and the Concert Band. The course and concerts are based in Stourbridge, West Midlands and runs from Sunday 28 July – Sunday 4 August 2019.
The closing date for applications is midnight on Saturday 15 December.
Last year 142 young people attended – a record year again. The course is hosted by Birmingham Scout County in conjunction with Girlguiding Birmingham.

It’s a Community Impact campaign which reflects our ambition by 2018 to mobilise half a million people in support of four social issues chosen by young people.

County Explorer Winter Camp October 9th-11th 2015

October 2015 was certainly a busy month for the Explorer Section, first the County Explorer Winter Camp saw around 80 Explorers gathering in North Cornwall to try out a range of activities including Horse riding, carriage driving, fly fishing, survival skills and “Science” (making water melons blow up…..).  An excellent relaxed camp fire finished off Saturday evening in the beautiful setting of Polmartin Farm near Liskeard.
